Learning Objectives
By attending this session, participants will be able to:

Understand the diversification argument - how private equity, real estate, and other alternatives might reduce volatility and enhance returns in retirement portfolios.

Identify the risks and constraints
 - including liquidity, fees, valuation challenges, fiduciary liability, and participant comprehension.

Compare implementation approaches, such as a component of a managed account or target-date strategy versus stand-alone offerings and the investment vehicle such as a collective trust, separate account or mutual fund.

Assess practical implications for plan governance
 - what committees, sponsors, and advisors must document, monitor, and communicate to meet fiduciary standards.
